Ailes du Nil

Solo Photo exhibition at Gallerie Saint Sauveur, Paris – 2013

One day, visiting my grandfather, I noticed a black and white photography lying on his desk : a wooden sailboat with a white sail on a large river lined with palm trees. I guessed it was a souvenir from his travel to Egypt. That photo, the hidden story of anciant times it told, the warmth of the desert, the slow and silent travels on water… stayed in my mind for years until :

These analog black and white photographies tell the story of my romantic biais for Egypt. They cary the weight of my nostalgia lifted by the joyful light of it’s modern inhabitants.
