Make Up

Performance comissioned by Act Up Marseille for a fundraising event 2019.

Every morning as I prepare to leave the house I put on my make up. And then I wonder who the make up is for, what is it for? What do we need to make up for? our flaws? our gender?
This piece is a performance about performing.
As we leave our homes we put on the invisible mask of conforming to our social status, the social constructs and norms that are attached to them. But what if I refuse to be what you assigned me to be? If I refuse to be a woman will I be a monster to you?
